The theme of my idea farming exercise is the semi-professional business model. Within this theme I am going to focus on generating ideas for improvement in the following areas: size/form, mobility, and storage.

So I need to come up with scribble prompts that direct people in these three areas~

Size/Form: stacking, combining, organizing, carrying, ergonomics, weight

      ~~possible draw instructions: draw a desert survival kit. draw a crazy ergonomic water gun.

Mobility: pushing, rolling, moving liquids, carrying

      ~~possible draw instructions: draw a way to transport aquarium fish. draw a octupus janitor.

Storage:  organizing, combining, stacking, saving, finding

     ~~~possible draw instructions: draw an awesome toy box. draw your refrigerator (open).  

**Question. Does anyone remember those key chains that were ovalish shaped and when you opened them all the little thingys inside would move? They usually came from like the zoo or places like that. Somehow the top opening powered the little creatures inside… They are super cool in my head, but it has been a minute since I have seen one.

~So as a studio we are hosting an idea farming session about industrial floor cleaning! (gasp!) We are each responsible for moderating one exercise within the session. Mine is the Scribble Game! Have you ever played this?

The Rules:

1.) Must be played with two or more people.

2.) One person draws a series of random lines. These should include a variety of line types, like a scribble, a zigzag, a curly-Q, or whatever. Between 4 and 6 lines is optimum.

3.) The lines need to be random and not subconsciously implied into something. Random. Do it.  Don’t think about it.

4.) The other person then has to use the random lines to draw an image of the others’ chosing.

5.) Themes make the game more fun, e.g. naked people, animals, weapons, etc.

6.) Then you switch roles and compare results. Funny results make the game more fun, so be loose. It is not a drawing contest. It is a crazy  contest.

~ I am in the Visiting Critics studio (Even though I am way more silly than serious).

~ We just started a project on tongue cleaners (Adam this is right up your current alley if you have any advice ), and also one on idea farming. So far I like the way Big Bang works.
