~ I am in the Visiting Critics studio (Even though I am way more silly than serious).

-so my idea didn’t get shot down, so on to stage two.

-connections: public to private space. neighbor to neighbor. interior space to exterior space. confined to open. tense atmosphere to relaxed atmos.

-object that brings people together, promotes social usage, and creates connections.

-find out what people are drawn and sustains their attention.

-trash? neg. vs potentially positive aspects of trash collection. attractive vs. repulsive trash.

-heat. or cooling. or drinks. bribing people to come near.

-an object for huddling around or sitting around. inside or outside.

these are really random thoughts, sorry if they are a little hard to follow.

saw watchmen yesterday. it was hilarious.

“i’m not stuck in here with you, your stuck in here with me!” -Rotheshack.  This idea could work for my project. Turning the tables on seemingly confining environments, how people view space. Flip a neg. connotation into a positive or reverse negative. Make people sacrifice their beloved personal space for something better. connection.

This is a link to the website of Tbolt pictures. Tbolt is an awesome up and coming film production company, whose work I think is really original and interesting. They are a small no frills operation- -whose prices are ridiculously cheap- -that create really elegant pieces of  art in motion..

Tbolt films is a group of Atlanta based films makers who specialize in making  creative, aesthetically impressive and innovative shorts, music videos, and feature length films. They also have the capabilities to produce all of the necessary supplementary 2-D design pieces – promotional posters, graphics, websites, etc.

I really hope that you will check out their website and consider them for any of your video needs.

I usually don’t use my blog as an advertisement space(well usually I do a lot of self advertisement, but that doesn’t count. ) but I am really a fan of this company and their ideals. They really have a lot of raw talent and passion and I wish them the best of luck in the future!

WORLDS LARGEST TURTLE MUSEUM!!!

totally awesome. got to meet the guy who collected them all. man after my own heart. also had over 3,000 turtle inspired gift items, so it was also good research for my studio project.

Swings

So I really like to swing. I was thinking about this earlier today, and I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t attracted to swings. If I see a swing set, I always reevaluate my previous path, and consider if there is time for a swing. I can’t say where this affliction comes from. The need to go back and forth and back and forth. Especially at night. I love to swing at night, when the playground is abandoned save for me. It is this weird attraction to sensations of it. It is like meditating and flying and running and forgetting all in one. Something about the fluctuating velocities and the wind. The novelity of meeting friends at the “set” is absurdly enjoyable. The best swings are the ones in the middle of nowhere, that have no distinuishable age, no accompaning  baby safe swings or monkey bars, just swings in the middle of grass nothing.  The hop. The taller the swing the harder it is to hit the hop. The chains in your hand are the best when it is cold. You don’t want to touch at first,but then you can’t help but tighten your grip til the metal is flush in your palm. The vague feeling of uneasiness due to rust coating. great.

whoever designed the swing is my favorite designer, no fucking contest.
